Terms of Service
Acceptance of Terms
By creating a CampusKart account, placing an order, listing a product, accepting a delivery assignment, or continuing to use the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use CampusKart. Your electronic acceptance (for example, ticking a box or clicking a button) may constitute a binding agreement.
About CampusKart
CampusKart is an online marketplace that connects Buyers with Sellers and facilitates delivery through Dispatch Riders. CampusKart is not the manufacturer of the products listed on the platform. Sellers are responsible for the products they list and for fulfilling orders they receive. Riders are responsible for the deliveries they undertake. CampusKart provides the platform, payment flow, communication, and dispute-handling mechanisms.
Accounts
You must provide accurate and current information when creating or maintaining an account. You must keep your credentials confidential, notify us promptly of any unauthorised access, and must not impersonate another person or allow another person to use your account in a way that breaches these Terms. We may suspend or restrict an account where there are reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, identity misuse, unlawful activity, or a material breach of these Terms.
For Buyers
Placing an Order
Before placing an order, please review the product's description, photographs, specifications, quantity, condition, price, availability, the seller's stated fulfilment period, and any delivery information.
When you place an order and complete payment, the order goes directly to the seller together with the money. CampusKart does not hold an order waiting for the seller to accept it — the seller receives it immediately and is expected to fulfil it within the stated period.
Cancelling an Order
You may cancel an order where:
- The seller fails to fulfil the order within the promised period.
- The seller materially changes the product or terms after your order.
- The seller is unable to supply the product.
Please do not use cancellation procedures fraudulently or to avoid legitimate payment obligations.
Delivery
Where CampusKart provides or arranges delivery, the applicable delivery timeframe will be communicated to you. Delivery may be affected by traffic, weather, inaccurate delivery information, recipient unavailability, security restrictions, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.
A fixed ₦600 delivery fee per seller is added at checkout. If a delay becomes reasonably foreseeable, we will aim to notify you where practicable.
Refunds
You may be entitled to a refund where:
- An order cannot be fulfilled.
- The seller fails to fulfil within the promised period.
- A pre-order is not fulfilled within the promised period.
- The product is materially different from its listing.
- The product is defective or materially damaged.
- The wrong product is delivered.
- Delivery fails for reasons attributable to the seller or rider.
- A duplicate payment occurs.
- Payment is made but the transaction is not completed.
Where a product has been accurately described, lawfully supplied, and is not defective or materially different, a refund is not automatic simply because you changed your mind. Refunds are ordinarily made through the payment method used for the transaction, unless another method is agreed or required.
Product Complaints
If you receive a product that you believe is defective, damaged, or materially different from its listing, please notify CampusKart within 24 hours of delivery.
Where reasonably possible, include:
- Your order number.
- A description of the problem.
- Photographs or videos.
- The condition of the packaging.
- Any relevant correspondence.
- Other evidence we may reasonably request.
How We Investigate Complaints
When you submit a complaint, we may request information from you, the seller, and the rider. We may review product listings, photographs, videos, order records, payment records, delivery records, seller and rider evidence, communications, timestamps, and other relevant information. We will endeavour to investigate fairly and reasonably.
Reviews and Ratings
Reviews must be based on genuine transactions or genuine experiences. You must not fabricate reviews, purchase positive reviews, manipulate ratings, threaten another user over a review, publish knowingly false allegations, or disclose another person's private information. We may remove or restrict reviews that violate these Terms.
For Sellers
Seller Registration and Verification
Before selling on CampusKart, you may be asked to provide information reasonably needed to verify your identity and support transactions. Depending on the circumstances this may include your full legal name, telephone number, email address, contact or residential address, payment information, school identification where relevant, government-issued identification where reasonably necessary, proof of address, and other proportionate information reasonably required for security, fraud prevention, or transaction purposes.
You must provide truthful and accurate verification information, and promptly update it if it becomes materially inaccurate. You must not use a false identity or another person's identity to operate an account. Verification information is not publicly displayed merely because you are a Seller.
Product Listings
Each listing must accurately state, where applicable: product name, description, quantity, size or dimensions, colour or variant, condition, material defects, authenticity or brand information, price, availability, expected fulfilment period, relevant warranty information, and any other material information a Buyer needs to make an informed purchasing decision.
You must not deliberately omit material information, use misleading photographs, describe used goods as new, misrepresent the brand or authenticity of a product, materially alter a product after purchase without the Buyer's consent, conceal known defects, or make false claims about quality, origin, or performance.
What You Must Not Sell
You must not list or sell:
- Counterfeit goods.
- Stolen goods or unlawfully obtained goods.
- Unsafe goods.
- Materially defective goods without appropriate disclosure.
- Prohibited goods.
- Goods you are not legally entitled to sell.
- Goods whose sale, possession, distribution, or delivery is prohibited in Nigeria.
Where a product requires a licence, permit, registration, or other legal authorisation, you are responsible for obtaining and maintaining it. If you know or reasonably ought to know of a material defect, you must disclose it before purchase.
Evidence of Product Condition
For products reasonably susceptible to disputes about condition, quality, quantity, or authenticity, please keep reasonable evidence of the product's condition before dispatch — such as photographs, videos, serial numbers, packaging photographs, authenticity records, receipts, or dispatch records. If a dispute arises, we may ask you to provide relevant evidence.
Order Fulfilment
Once an order reaches you, fulfil it within the stated delivery period. Do not accept an order if you know or reasonably expect that you cannot supply the product within the stated period. If you become unable to fulfil an order, notify CampusKart promptly.
Pre-Orders
If you offer a pre-order, clearly state that the product is a pre-order, the expected fulfilment period, any material conditions affecting fulfilment, and applicable cancellation terms. Make reasonable efforts to fulfil the pre-order within the stated period. Where a pre-order is not fulfilled within the promised period and the Buyer is entitled to a refund, we will process the applicable refund within 48 hours after confirmation of the refund obligation, subject to payment-provider processing times.
Seller Performance
We monitor seller performance using reasonable indicators, including fulfilment rate, cancellation rate, substantiated complaints, delivery performance, verified customer feedback, and breaches of these Terms. A seller may be subject to review, warning, temporary suspension, or other appropriate action where they accumulate three (3) substantiated adverse complaints, findings, or materially adverse ratings within a period determined by our operational policy.
A mere negative rating, without a reasonable basis or evidence, does not automatically establish misconduct. We consider the circumstances, evidence, severity, and pattern of complaints before taking action. Serious misconduct, fraud, unlawful activity, counterfeit goods, threats, or immediate safety risks may justify immediate suspension regardless of the number of prior complaints.
Settlement
Unless otherwise stated, seller funds may be held pending completion of the transaction. Applicable CampusKart fees, delivery charges, payment-processing charges, refunds, or lawful deductions may be deducted where agreed. Settlement may be delayed where there is an active dispute, suspected fraud, payment reversal, or legal requirement. Settlement is made according to the schedule communicated by CampusKart.
Unreachable Sellers
If you become unreachable following a legitimate transaction dispute, we may use your verified information for purposes reasonably connected with contacting you, resolving the transaction, processing a refund, recovering products or funds, preventing fraud, investigating suspected unlawful conduct, and enforcing contractual obligations. We will not use your information to facilitate harassment, intimidation, public shaming, or unlawful exposure.
For Dispatch Riders
Rider Registration and Verification
We may require a rider to provide information reasonably necessary for identity verification, delivery safety, transaction security, fraud prevention, communication, payment and settlement, and legal compliance. This information is processed in line with our Privacy Policy.
Rider Responsibilities
A rider must:
- Collect the correct product.
- Reasonably verify the order before collection.
- Handle the product with reasonable care.
- Not tamper with or open packaged products unless authorised or legally required.
- Deliver to the correct recipient or authorised location.
- Comply with reasonable delivery instructions.
- Maintain professional conduct.
- Not misuse buyer or seller information.
- Provide reasonable proof of delivery where required.
Proof of Delivery
We may use reasonable methods of confirming delivery — including recipient confirmation, a delivery code or OTP, electronic acknowledgement, timestamp, location confirmation, a photograph where lawful and appropriate, or other reasonable evidence. A rider must not falsely mark an order as delivered.
Failed Delivery
Where delivery cannot be completed because of circumstances attributable to the Buyer, the rider should make reasonable efforts to contact the Buyer and follow CampusKart's failed-delivery procedure. Where the failure is attributable to the Seller or Rider, the Buyer will not be unfairly charged for a failed delivery.
Loss or Damage During Delivery
Where a product is damaged, lost, or materially altered while under the control of a rider, we may investigate the circumstances and determine the appropriate remedy. A rider may be responsible to CampusKart for loss or damage caused by the rider's negligence, wilful misconduct, fraud, or breach of these Terms.
For All Users
Prohibited Conduct
No user may use CampusKart to:
- Commit fraud.
- Launder money.
- Sell stolen property.
- Impersonate another person.
- Distribute malicious software.
- Unlawfully obtain personal data.
- Manipulate transactions or ratings.
- Threaten or harass other users.
- Evade lawful payment obligations.
- Conduct unlawful financial activities.
- Breach intellectual-property rights.
- Engage in any activity prohibited by Nigerian law.
False or Malicious Complaints
You must not knowingly submit a false complaint or attempt to obtain a refund by deception. This includes falsely claiming non-delivery, deliberately damaging a product and claiming it arrived damaged, submitting manipulated evidence, returning a different product, threatening or coercing another user into an improper refund, or repeatedly making knowingly false complaints. Where we establish reasonable evidence of fraudulent conduct, we may suspend the account, reject the improper claim, and take other lawful measures.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or restrict an account where reasonably necessary because of fraud, suspected unlawful activity, serious consumer-safety concerns, repeated material breaches, identity misrepresentation, payment abuse, manipulation of reviews, counterfeit or stolen goods, abuse of other users, or other material violations of these Terms. Where practicable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to respond, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary. You may terminate your account at any time, subject to completing outstanding transactions and obligations. Termination does not extinguish rights or obligations which by their nature survive it.
Disputes
We encourage you to contact us first through our internal complaint process so we can try to resolve the matter. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from approaching a competent regulatory body, court, or other lawful dispute-resolution mechanism.
Changes to These Terms
We may amend these Terms where reasonably necessary due to changes in law, regulatory requirements, platform changes, security requirements, or improvements to user protections. Material changes will be communicated through reasonable means.

At CampusKart, we are committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your personal information secure. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable Nigerian data-protection regulations.
